Discussion and symposium held on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of Canada-Nepal diplomatic relations
Toronto. A discussion and symposium was held in Brampton, Canada, on Sunday to mark the 61st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Canada and Nepal.
The program was organized by “Concern Nepal Canada” to discuss the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The program was coordinated by Govinda Shiwakoti on behalf of the organization.
On the occasion of the annual day, Anjani Raj Bhattarai, founder of the organizing organization, and Ishan Poudel, professor and economist at Sheridan College, gave presentations on diplomatic activities, trade, tourism, equality, diversity, historical significance, and relations between the two countries.
The keynote speakers of the event were Bharatraj Poudel, Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, and Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South and member of the Canada-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group. Both speakers openly praised the contributions and positive activities of the Nepali community in Canada.
On the occasion of the annual day, representatives of various organizations including NRN Canada President Jagan Sapkota, journalists Anil Thapa, Indira Rijal and others expressed their best wishes. Most of the speakers said that the Canadian government should also emphasize the establishment of a visa consular office in Nepal. The program was conducted by CA Shristi Shrestha.
