Iran’s stance that it will never surrender to Israel and the United States
Iran apologizes to Gulf countries, announces it will not attack, sets this condition
Agency. As the ongoing war in the Middle East enters its second week, Iran has reiterated its stance that it will never surrender to Israel and the United States. Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga addressed the nation and said that the struggle will continue despite external pressure.
In a speech broadcast on state television, President Pezizyan said it would be wrong for those who attacked Iran to think that the Iranian people could be subdued. “Iran’s enemies must understand that the Iranian people will only be willing to surrender unconditionally to their graves,” he said.
Regional tensions escalated after Israel and the United States launched a military strike against Iran on February 28. Following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has formed a three-member interim leadership council, of which Pejeskian is a member.
Following Khamenei’s assassination, Iran responded by launching missile and drone attacks on Israeli and American targets in the Gulf. The Iranian navy claimed to have launched a “massive wave” of attacks targeting US military bases and strategic Israeli locations. Iranian media reported that the targets were Al-Minhad and Al-Dhafra air bases in the United Arab Emirates and a US military base in Kuwait. The Revolutionary Guards said they had damaged US air warfare centers, satellite communications centers and radars.
Meanwhile, President Pezizyan has apologized to neighboring countries affected by Iran’s actions. He apologized on behalf of himself and his country and made it clear that Iran will not adopt a policy of targeting its neighbors. According to him, Tehran will no longer attack Iran unless it is attacked using the land of the Gulf countries. He informed that the Interim Leadership Council has decided not to fire missiles at neighboring countries unless they attack Iran.
