Nepali team in India to prepare for the triangular series in Canada

Kathmandu. The Nepali national cricket team has gone to India to prepare for the triangular series to be held in Canada in September under the ICC ODI World Cup League-2. According to the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), the Nepali team went to India on Monday morning.

The team will train for two weeks at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Nepal will play a triangular series against Oman and Canada under the ICC ODI World Cup League-2.

Nepal is about to play the second series in League-Two. Earlier, in the first series held at the home ground, Nepal won only one out of four matches. In the first series involving Namibia and the Netherlands, Nepal defeated the Netherlands in one game.

Nepal is in the sixth position after scoring two points in four matches in the ICC ODI World Cup League-Two. Scotland is at the top with nine points in seven games, while Canada is second with eight points, Namibia is third, Netherlands is fourth with six points, and Oman is fifth with three points. The United States, who have not played a single game so far, are seventh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who have played three games are at the bottom.

CAN has included a 22-man squad in closed training for Canada’s triangular series. In which Rohit Kumar Poudel (Captain), Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Shah, Dev Khanal, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Kamal Singh Airy, Rijan Dhakal, Sandeep Lamichhane, Bhim Sarki, Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi, Arif Sheikh, Surya Tamang, Kushal Malla, Basir Ahmed, Dipendra Singh Airi, Akash Chand, Arjun Saud, Sagar Dhakal, Sompal Kami and Sandeep Zora.
