US attack on Iran’s oil network: US Navy deploys 12 ships to Arabian Sea

Washington. The conflict between the United States and Iran is escalating. According to President Donald Trump, the United States has bombed a military target on the island of Kharg, which is crucial to Iran’s oil network. The island is home to Iran’s main oil export terminal.

Trump has warned that the US military has completely destroyed military targets on the island and that oil infrastructure could be targeted if necessary. Earlier, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned that such attacks would provoke a strong response from Iran.

A large explosion rocked the Iranian capital Tehran on Friday, in an area where thousands of people were taking part in an annual pro-Palestinian rally, chanting slogans against Israel and the United States.

Some high-ranking government officials were also present at the rally. No casualties were reported due to the explosion, but the incident highlighted the steadfast determination and resilience of both sides in the conflict.

The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Amphibious Assault Ship Tripoli have been sent to the Middle East to further bolster US forces in the war. These Marine units specialize not only in amphibious assaults, but also in embassy security, civilian rescue, and disaster relief.

The deployment does not necessarily indicate a ground invasion, US officials said. The US Navy already has 12 ships in the Arabian Sea, including the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and eight destroyers. The Tripoli will be the second-largest force in the region after the ship.

Iran has continued to launch missile and drone attacks on Israel and neighboring Gulf states. The Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world’s oil passes, is largely closed, putting pressure on oil supplies in the Gulf and on international markets.

The humanitarian crisis is deepening. Israeli strikes on Iranian-backed Hezbollah militants in Lebanon have killed nearly 800 people and displaced 850,000. The Israel-Hezbollah conflict has killed 773 people in Lebanon, including more than 100 children and 18 health workers.

The US has struck more than 15,000 Iranian targets since the start of the war. The US Secretary of Defense has reported that more than 1,000 targets are being attacked per day. Six crew members have been killed in a US refueling plane crash in western Iraq.

The crash is the fourth of four publicly confirmed US military aircraft crashes. Three previous US fighter jets were damaged by errant friendly fire from Kuwait.

The conflict has had a serious impact on the global economy, the security situation in the Gulf region, and the humanitarian crisis. Oil and energy supplies have been at risk, millions of civilians have been displaced, and property has been destroyed. The fierce resistance and war tactics of both sides have made the conflict more complex and dangerous.
