Bhotekoshi flood: Death toll reaches 788, 25 hundreed still unaccounted for
Kathmandu. A total of 788 people have died so far after the massive flood that hit Bhotekoshi in Rasuwa on Bhadra 20. Nepal Police, releasing the updated details as of 3 pm on Sunday, said that 788 bodies have been recovered from eight different districts.
According to the police, 13 people have died in Rasuwa, 52 in Nuwakot, 50 in Dhading, 58 in Gorkha, 264 in Chitwan, 37 in Tanahun, 194 in Nawalparasi East, and 120 in Nawalparasi West.
Meanwhile, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, approximately 2,500 people are still unaccounted for after the disaster.
According to the authority, 8,730 people have been rescued so far. It is stated that rescue and search operations have been intensified.
The disaster has caused huge loss of life and property in various areas, while relief, rescue, and rehabilitation work is ongoing in the affected areas.
