“Co-husband” selected in the study materials of the Universities of America and Canada.
Kathmandu. The documentary film ‘Co-Husband’ made about Nepal’s polygamy system is going to be used as a study material in various campuses and universities in America and Canada. The 35-minute documentary directed by journalist Ganesh Pandey was shot in Humla, Karnali Pradesh.
Documentary Educational Resources, established in the United States in 1968, is about to participate in reading as reference material on campuses and universities in the United States and Canada.
In this film based on polygamy, as many brothers as there are in the house, the world’s unique custom of marrying one wife is still existing in the Himalayan districts including Humla. Director Pandey brought the same topic to the screen for the first time. The documentary was made after about four years of filming. Produced by Sign Media Pvt Ltd, this documentary has also been written and directed by Pandey himself.
Director Pandey said that it is a matter of pride for the country that ‘Co-Husband’ has been included as an excellent reference material in various universities studying anthropology. Even before this, director Pandey’s much-loved documentary film ‘Bhagyle Zahekaharu’ also won one and a half dozen international awards.
