Five histories created by US President Trump

Shishir Simkhada, Toronto. After Donald Trump’s victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the US presidential election, five major events have become historic in America. Trump will be sworn in as president in January.

Criminal case: Donald Trump is the first US president to be convicted of a criminal case. He was convicted of several crimes in New York. However, no punishment has been ordered against him so far. It will be heard in the court on November 21.

Oldest: Trump is the oldest US president to be elected. He was elected president at the age of 78. Joe Biden also ran for president at the age of 77. He will be 81 years old in November 2024. Trump will be 82 years old when he retires.

Winning the popular vote: In the five elections prior to the 2016 election, no Republican candidate had won the popular vote. That is, even though they won in the Electoral College, they were behind their opponents in terms of votes. In 2016, Trump became the first Republican candidate to be elected by the popular vote.

Impeached twice: Trump is the first US president to face impeachment twice. Despite being impeached twice, he was re-elected as president. He was first impeached in 2019 and the second in January 2021. The Senate acquitted him both times.

Win, lose, and win: Trump is only the second president in US history to have one defeat between his two terms. Grover Cleveland did the same 132 years ago. Cleveland is the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.
