Mississauga Canada Nepal Lions Club Honors Newly Elected NRNA Canada Leaders, Forms Club Committee & hold orientations
SHISHIR SIMKHADA,Toronto: The Mississauga Canada Nepal Lions Club honored the newly elected NRNA Canada leaders and completed the formation of the club’s committee at a program organized in Mississauga today.
Charter members of the Mississauga Canada Nepal Lions Club were elected to the official and board of directors at the recently concluded convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Canada. The charter members of the club elected in the NRNA election were honored at the event.
NRNA Canada President-elect Jagan Sapkota, Senior Vice President Prajapati Sapkota and Board of Directors Sagar Gurung were honored at the event. Charter President Ghanshyam Bhattarai honored them with a meal on behalf of the club. The event, chaired by Club President Ghanshyam Bhattarai, was moderated by Secretary Dhrubamani Poudel.
Club Visit and Orientation Program
Lions Club International District A-711 Zone Chairperson Shaminda Perera and Mississauga Cookeville Lions Club President Ashish Adhikari visited the Canada Nepal Lions Club today and gave an orientation to the club officers and members. They gave an orientation on the operation and procedures of Lions Clubs in Canada and social service. Mississauga Cookeville Lions Club is the Guide Lions and Sponsor Club of the Canada Nepal Lions Club.
Completion of the club committee formation
The executive committee of the Mississauga Canada Nepal Lions Club has been completed.
The club’s full meeting held today has completed the office bearers and board committee members of the club. Ghanshyam Bhattarai was elected as the president of the recently formed club, Dhrubamani Poudel as the secretary, and Rishi Pokharel as the treasurer. The meeting held today has elected Gokarna Lamichhane as the first vice president, Kamal Gyawali as the second vice president, and Ramkrishna Regmi as the third vice president.
Similarly, Shishir Simkhada has been elected as Marketing and Communication Chairperson, Ramesh Dhital as Membership Chairperson, Birendra Poudel as Club Service Chairperson, Tail Twister Damodar Poudel, Lion Tamer Anil Gyawali and Club LCF Coordinator Jagannath Sapkota have been selected. Shudarshan Adhikari and Gokarna Kunwar have been elected as 1-year directors of the club, and Bed Bahadur Gurung and Prabin Poudel have been elected as 2-year directors.
Amrit Chhetri has been selected as the Youth Program Chairperson, Nam Bhusal as the Hunger Relief Chairperson, Narayan Parajuli as the Peace Poster Chairperson, Chhabilal Sharma as the Vision/Sight Program Chairperson and Dhurba Bhattarai as the Diabetes Awareness Chairperson. Similarly, Babukrishna Kandel, Yuvraj Sharma, Sunil Adhikari, Damodar Gautam, Toplal Pandey, Prajapati Sapkota and Sagar Gurung have been selected as the Board of Committee Members.
Officers and board members who were unable to attend the club’s program in person also participated online. They discussed and interacted with the club’s future plans and programs and even prepared a 1-year plan.
