Severe floods in Solukhumbu’s Thame: One missing, 20 houses completely damaged, 140 people displaced

Kathmandu. One person has gone missing due to a sudden flood yesterday afternoon in Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality 5 Thame of Solukhumbu. 20 houses and hotels have been completely damaged. Chief District Officer Devi Pandey Khatri informed that 3 schools and a hostel and a clinic were damaged.

140 affected people have been kept safely in hotels and relatives. Chief District Officer Pandey, who rescued the affected area from the army and the police, informed Orangut. As the roads and bridges leading to the affected areas have been damaged, they are preparing to take relief by helicopter today.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has informed about the Thame flood and directed to pay attention to prevent human casualties. In a telephone conversation last night, Prime Minister Oli instructed the Chief District Officer to pay special attention to human life as there is nothing else equal to the value of human life.

Prime Minister Oli has also instructed to pay attention to ensure that relief comes quickly and that people do not starve, and that people do not die of hardship. Prime Minister Oli has also said that if any citizen of the affected area is regularly taking medicine, he will inform about it quickly and arrange to send medicine from Kathmandu if necessary.
