Trump announces US blockade of Strait of Hormuz

Direct talks between the US and Iran, which began in Islamabad on Saturday, ended without a conclusion on Sunday morning. The US was led by Vice President JD Vance in the talks, which lasted about 21 hours.
Agency. US President Donald Trump has announced that the US Navy will immediately block the Strait of Hormuz. He made this announcement after talks with Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, ended without a conclusion.

He said Iran is extorting money from ships passing through here. “I have instructed our Navy to search for and intercept any ship in international waters that pays tolls to Iran. Anyone paying illegal tolls will not have safe passage at sea,” Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth. He claimed that other countries would also support the US in this blockade.

He also claimed that the US would remove the bombs that Iran had placed in the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, the US Central Command, which oversees the Middle East, had claimed that two US destroyers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has denied this claim.

Direct US-Iran talks, which began in Islamabad on Saturday, ended without a conclusion on Sunday morning. The nearly 21-hour talks were led by US Vice President J.D. Vance.

He said that although the US appeared in the talks with good intentions ,
it failed to convince Iran on its issues. He also said that the US team had repeated phone calls during the talks with President Donald Trump.

Trump has blamed the failure of the talks on Iran’s refusal to give up its nuclear weapons ambitions. “The talks were cordial. They agreed on almost everything. But they were not ready to give up their nuclear ambitions. And that was a key issue for us. Iran will never be able to build a nuclear weapon,” Trump told Fox News.

Despite the failure of the Iran-US talks, there were expectations that a new round of talks could be held. Because there are still 10 days left to the end of the two-week temporary ceasefire. However, the entry of US troops into the Strait of Hormuz has added new tension.

Earlier, a member of the Iranian delegation claimed in a conversation with Fars News that the US was just using the talks as an excuse.

He claimed that the US was trying to escape from West Asia. He said that Iran had maintained its position on control of the Strait of Hormuz, the development of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and some other issues. He also claimed that there was no plan to hold another round of talks with the US.
